Drotsky's Lodge, morning bird walk, Botswana
We watched the sun rise over the Okavango river first thing:
Then set about a walk around the extensive grounds of the lodge. Our first new bird bird of the morning was this Black Cuckoo:

and White-fronted Bee-Eater in the golden morning light:
I think this is the best picture of a bird I took on the whole trip:
It's amazing what a difference the lighting makes to colour and the warmth of the picture overall.

After breakfast we hurried to catch the boat down the river to our next Lodge, the Xabo Lodge. Evidence of reed burning was unfortunately common:
