A local bird guide, Ngepi Lodge, Kvango

I mentioned Christopher.  We asked Gys to hire Christopher for a morning's 'proper' birding.  He was already booked with another group on the first day so we booked him for the second morning.  This proved to be a good idea as he knew where to locate the species we were looking for and the birding itinerary suggested should be around.

We started off going back to Poppa Falls, not the lodge by the name but another access point just past a church.  Hey presto!  Rock Pratincoles:

Another spot he took us too was a series of ponds and fields, surrounded apparently by various members of his family and their homesteads, but very productive birding, including:

African Jacanas:

and Lesser Jacana:

African Wattled Lapwing:

Buffy Pipit:

Chin-spot Batis:

Groundscraper Thrush:

Plain-backed Pipit:

Senegal Coucal:

Squacco Heron:

and Tawny-flanked Prinia:

Christopher had to leave to go shopping in Rundu so we headed back to camp, dropped him off, collected our stuff and headed to Botswana!
