Panama - Fortuna National Park

On our last full day in the Fortuna area we made it up to the continental divide.   The trail however was unmaintained and hazardous to walk on, being very steep scree and mud.  We tried a way but decided to go along the road instead.

This was ok and we saw a reasonable amount including various Huimmingbirds, and Black-and-Gold Tanager:

Together with a perched Broad-winged Hawk:

But overall the birding was quiet.

At the very top you can look down to both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts, this is the Caribbean view:

We enjoyed our stay in the Fortuna area but as usual we found it mostly inaccessible and frustrating in terms of infrastructure.
