East Anglia Holiday - Day 2 pt 1

We started promptly by walking to Cley Marshes, another Norfolk Wildlife reserve, and were treated to some very close Sedge Warblers, a Ruddy Shelduck, good views of two Marsh Harriers and a fleeting glimpse of a pair of Bearded Reedlings, which was a fantastic experience.

From the hides there were good views of Avocet (seen here with a Lapwing):

Whilst walking down the far side of the reserve, we spotted (or rather heard!) this Redshank:

The staff at Cley were very helpful as were some other birders we met who gave us some tips for our up and coming visits to Hickling Broad and Dunwich Heath - both planned for later in the week.
