Postcards from Australasia #23 (Lockdown)

We thought we were going to fly home on March 28th, instead we are sheltering-in-place, just north of Christchurch. This then is a post consisting of ad-hoc images from our as-yet unbounded stay

We're feeding the horses in the paddock immediately in front of us, with the owners permission. They have us well trained already!

Our view is West across the Canterbury Plains to the foothills of the central spine of South Island. We've had a few cracking sunsets already:

The sky is different every night, with the partially cloudy ones the best:

We're firmly into Autumn now - there's already been one snowfall on the hills just visible on the horizon:

As well as the views we have a beach a short walk from the accommodation where we're able to exercise while maintaining our physical and social disatncing:

We see an average of about five other people an hour and roughly the same number of dogs, mostly it's just wide-open spaces:

Moody skies and tidal flow:

Currently the tides are much bigger than usual, creating some interesting effects combined with the gradually lower lighting:

And then there's the sunnier days though here a new weather front is chasing away the sunshine, no sunbathing for a few days then!

Let's see what lies around the next corner...
